Cook-outs are a great way for a church to meet their neighbors. Simply pass-out fliers door to door inviting neighbors for a free cook-out. Select a basic menu. For children have sidewalk toys(bubbles, hula hoops, jump ropes, sidewalk chalk, etc.) . Give away door prizes it can be as simple as fast food certificates or as big as a bike. Build a mailing list from your door prize sign up cards. Send thank you notes for coming. Cook-outs are great relationship builders. All of our KUO sites do cook-outs every week(26 weeks) we build relationships and have a great list to invite children back in the fall to our children's outreach.
